What IS the WFMH Challenge?
WFMH (Wealth for my Health) is a 12 week city wide health challenge comprised of FIVE main components:
1. Weekly group workout with the certified personal trainer you are assigned to, along with your other teammates and team leader.
These workouts are boot camp style workouts mainly using body weight as resistance and incorporating some cardio as well. These workouts can be modified to suit ANYONE’S fitness capabilities and limitations due to injury, age, etc. You will meet with your team once a week for the duration of the challenge, at a pre-determined day and time each week. You will have the option of selecting with team/trainer you would like to work with when you sign up for membership, pending that trainer’s availability.
2. Weekly meetings for accountability and education.
Meetings take place on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:00pm. (except for Orientation and Final Measurements). These meetings offer accountability (through weighing in), interaction with your teammates and other teams, and LOTS of useful nutrition and health information provided by Karen, our Registered Dietitian. Some weekly meetings we may have a speaker and some meetings we will do fun team challenges in parks, downtown, etc.
3. Learn what foods to eat through weekly snacks and grocery store tours.
Each meeting (except for team challenges) a healthy snack will be prepared for contestants to sample. Grocery store tours will also be offered throughout the course of the challenge, covering each section of the store. Karen, Registered Dietitian will be leading these tours and pointing out specific food items contestants should focus on while shopping (and what to AVOID!).
4. Fun team challenges and chance to win cash, makeover, and other prizes.
There will be a fun team challenge once a month, in which you will compete against other teams for the win. These challenges can be physical, mental, and educational in nature. There is also an individual challenge throughout the course of the WFMH challenge: the contestant that loses the largest average percentage of weight, body fat, and abdomen circumference will win cash and prizes. There are two divisions: New Contestant and Veteran Contestant. New Contestants are competing for a $350 cash prize, a makeover and a free month of boot camp. Veteran Contestants are competing for a $250 cash prize and a free month of boot camp. There will be other prizes and incentives along the way.
5. Network of support from your trainer, teammates and other health and wellness professionals.
We have teamed up with excellent health industry professionals that share the same mission as WFMH: to provide the tools and resources necessary to live a healthy lifestyle for the families of the community we serve. These individuals are committed to helping contestants achieve the healthiest lifestyle possible and are willing to provide support and answer questions the contestants may have.

You are provided with a Healthy Living Manual created by the experts of WFMH. This manual gives you a grocery shopping guide, food journals, and tips and tricks to living a healthy lifestyle. This will quickly become your healthy living bible.
*Let us be clear in saying that you aren’t on a diet when you’re participating in this program – you aren’t equipped with a lot of stringent rules. Our philosophy is this: Eat clean, natural foods that our bodies were designed to eat… and reap the benefits of doing so. Eat comfort foods on occasion in moderation… and really enjoy doing so! A lot of this is trial and error and finding out what foods work for you and your family and your schedule – a one size fits all plan of eating is NOT conducive to living a healthy life. We want to guide you in finding out what YOUR healthy life looks like.
You will receive a Calendar of Events. The first event is Orientation in which you will meet your team, the experts of WFMH and get your beginning measurements taken. All measurements are taken in a private location to make you feel most comfortable. Nobody will be taking off their shirts and getting weighed in, in front of America.
